Accessibility statement

We want everyone to be able to find a restaurant, book a table, and share a review on Signature Dish, including people who use a keyboard, a screen reader, magnification, voice control, or other assistive technology.

Our goal

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA across the site: the public pages, diner accounts, the restaurant dashboard, and the admin portal. We're working toward that goal. We have not yet had an independent audit, so we don't claim full conformance. We test with automated checkers and keyboard-only walkthroughs, and fix problems as we find them.

Accessibility settings on every page

Select the Accessibility button (bottom-right of the screen on tablets and computers; on phones, the Access tab in the bottom bar) to open the settings panel. Your choices apply immediately and are saved in this browser on this device only; we don't send them to our servers.

Text size: Default, Large, Larger or Largest. Everything on the page scales, not just body text.
Color theme: Light, Dark, or Match device.
High contrast: darker text, solid borders and stronger button colors. Works with both light and dark themes.
Underline links: every link is underlined so it's easy to tell apart from plain text.
Readable font: switches to Atkinson Hyperlegible, a typeface designed for clear letter shapes, served from our own server.
More line and letter spacing: extra space between lines, letters and words.
Reduce motion: stops animations and clip autoplay. If your device is set to reduce motion, we honor that automatically.
Large cursor: a bigger mouse pointer.
Strong focus highlight: a thick black-and-yellow outline around whatever has keyboard focus.
Reset all: returns everything to the default look.

The panel itself works with a keyboard and screen readers: Tab moves through the options, Space or Enter changes them, and Esc closes the panel and puts you back on the Accessibility button.

Other features

A Skip to main content link is the first thing you reach with the Tab key.
The whole site is designed to work with a keyboard alone: Tab and Shift+Tab move through links, buttons and form fields in order; focus is always visible; Enter and Space activate controls; Esc closes dialogs.
In the clip feed, use the arrow keys, Page Up or Page Down to move between clips, and the Play/Pause button to control each clip. Clips include captions where available.
Forms label every field, explain errors in text, and move focus to the error message.
Pages are built to reflow on small screens and when zoomed in.

Known limitations

Restaurants and diners upload their own photos, clips and text. Some uploaded clips may not have captions yet.
Some third-party parts, such as the bot check shown on some forms, are provided by other companies and may not fully meet our goal.

Email [email protected] with the page address, what you were trying to do, and the device, browser and any assistive technology you use. If you can't complete a booking online, tell us and we'll help you reach the restaurant.
